As a not-for-profit LGBTQ+ organisation, Gaydio supports Academy participants through confidence-building, skills-based education and training through courses and projects throughout the year.
Lee is our Academy Lead, heading up the Gaydio Academy and delivering training programmes across the UK. He helps aspiring broadcasters and content creators develop their media skills through practical, hands-on courses in radio, podcasting, journalism, and digital content creation.
Lee has worked in media for nearly two decades, producing radio output for a number of radio stations, as well as hosting shows across Gaydio and coverage for LGBTQ+ events for the station.
Craig Cunningham is our Multimedia Journalist, covering the biggest news stories from across the UK and around the world. He brings audiences the latest developments, breaking news, and in-depth reporting across a wide range of topics.
Alongside his reporting, Craig trains Academy participants in broadcast journalism, news gathering, interviewing, social media journalism, and digital storytelling, helping them build the practical skills and confidence needed for a career in the media industry.
Our Bid Writer and Fundraiser, Steve Joyce, manages our relationships with course funders and partners. He plays a key role in securing funding, developing new opportunities, and ensuring the Academy can continue to provide high-quality training and support to aspiring broadcasters.
Steve secures funding to support the Gaydio Academy and works closely with Lee to develop course materials, helping deliver engaging, high-quality training for Academy participants.
